Some confusion exists as to the distinction between the ORCA time correction method, and the Regatta Scoring and Race Management program.

The program is a comprehensive regatta management system. It permits the use of a number of time correction methods. One of the time correction methods included in the program is the ORCA time correction method. The ORCA time correction method may be used in exactly the same manner as any other time correction method; it is merely a menu selection in the setup of an individual division.

When specifying an individual division in a regatta, the time correction method is assigned to that particular division from a selection list which includes (among others) boat for boat, time on time, time on distance, elapsed time divided by rating, elapsed time multiplied by rating, and ORCA. These time correction methods may be assigned on a mix-and-match basis amongst the multiple divisions in a regatta.

There is no need to use ORCA time corrections to use the program.

Again, use of ORCA time corrections is NOT a requirement of the program.
